Resin Indy Revolver Project... For Canadians!

Well it's not just for Canadians, BUT, I figured since the difficulties with importing and everything, I'd take it upon myself to make an accurate replica of Indiana Jone's "Stembridge" revolver. This is the one seen as indy packs his bags in Raiders. It's cast of a real Hand Ejector II.

Some features are:
Real lanyard swivel
Made of task plastic,
Seperate parts include; frame, cylinder, yoke, extractor rod, grips.
The paint I'm using is duracoat so it's durable. Also includes real steel dummy rounds.

I cast this one up and it has a few imperfections, but I think you get the idea mostly. I haven't really trimmed it or hollowed the barrel, and the grips are wrong but there for show.

The front sight was modeled after taking measurements (based on pics) from the real one. Reverse engineering off the stamp on the barrel.

Anyways I am offering them. Wink wink. But I thought I'd show some WIP pics. Needs paint and correct grips. I'm waiting for the grips to come in still. I added clay in the trades to show them better in the pic.

I'd be very interested but alas i live in the UK so anything that is plastic and resembles a banana is now ilegal:unsure

I heard about how much they are cracking down over here stateside - they seem to be banning the **** out of anything with a gun in it - on it - or near it

Tough luck in this hobby !

I feel your pain

such a stupid and frustrating new law.
Plastic replicas are a no no , but real deactivated firearms are ok :angry

Guys, the law as it's been explained to me states that these replicas are only illegal if they are the same colour as a real gun, and could therefore be mistaken for one. (Some airsoft shops are now offering guns in green plastic to get around it.)

The castings shown above appear to be a very pale plastic and definitely *not* 'gun-coloured'. :love As such I believe they would still be fine for us to import.

However if you chose to paint them black, then you'd be breaking the law (by 'manufacturing a replica firearm'). :angry

I'm ready to be corrected but that's as I understand it.

Ok - put me down for 1 finished model in snow white (which i will in no way paint it black):rolleyes

How much ?

Well if that's the law in the UK about the color.. I could just ship it in off white snow camo.... Intresting. I'll do that for sure, but if they seize it... lol.

I guess I'll start the JY thread tonight. PM I guess for details right now, as I might get introuble by the mods... lol.

A very nice peice!!

As a side note about the UK import law, I was talking to a copper at the weekend who is involved in prop collecting (mainly swords) and he stated that if you have a receipt or some other proof of purchase with the importing item that states it was bought BEFORE the October deadline they have to let it through, irrespective of colour. How long you could get away with this for is unsure but we guessed it may at least work until Xmas. So if the seller could fake up a receipt.....

Thanks guys.

waves... You guys all ordered in Sept right? :p

Here's more pics. The paint turned out to be a bit too blue but hey it gives an idea. ANd again, the grips are wrong, and it's a reject gun, but still. Just for an idea. The weathering is really hardcore and about 10 minutes work. I won't be doing the other ones this weathered unless asked. The yoka and extractor I bent a bit, but they shouldn't be like that, the production models won't.

Nice job! :) I'll be keeping an eye out for the JY thread.

My only suggestion is that the weathering on the actual prop gun(s) was very minimal, and those were guns that were 50 years older than Indy's gun should have been.

And while this isn't the same gun being replicated, it still shows how much luster remained on the gun...

Folks, use his junkyard thread to express interest in purchasing. Use this one for discussion about the prop, and the replica, itself. thanks!
