Resin and primer question

i've used both, and never had a strong opinion either way. i usually use either rustoleum or duplicolor sandable primer

I also use Krylon with fine results. I've tried several differnt kind, including the Rustoleum Auto Primer (also good stuff), and most seem to do well, except for the bargain basement el-cheap-o primers.

self-etching isn't needed, but sanding the part surface is always a good idea (just to make sure there is no release or residue from the casting process)

I too prefer lacquer based primers. I usually use Duplicolor Sandable Primer, great stuff, you can get it at most auto supply places

That's what I've been using but I saw the self-etching stuff on the shelf and got to wondering...

I assume it's best for surfaces that are more resistant to paint?...metal, rubber, stuff like that?
