Resin/3D printed or Cast metal ANH DL-44

Looking for opinions. I want to do a Denix base ANH DL-44 display piece. Should I go with resin/3D printed parts or cast metal (like DEC's parts)? I have never worked with metal before so I don't know if that makes a difference. And I have never blued anything so I will probably paint the parts. Thoughts and advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Go with metal. If you start with resin/plastic parts, you'll eventually want to upgrade anyways
