3x9V blocks PLUS an AAA pack, now I know where the weigth comes from :lol

I have to bug you some more ;)...
What about the lit numbers on the back and the undersuit (esp. the chest and neck area with the trapezoids and the ribbing)...pics? :D

Did you build the DC17 by yourseld or are these Talon´s work?

Can´t wait to start my RC ;) (even if I´m still unsure about the paintjob :unsure)

The lit numbers are printed on clear plastic and illuminated with LEDs (at least mine and Eric's are) in a light-box behind them. Eric can print any number that is desired as he has created the template for that plate.

The "bibs" around the collar are being re-worked. They are not exact, but we didn't have time to fix them by the time they arrived from the seamstress. They are just leather donuts that fit around a standard TK collar.

Our DC-17s were made by TKMark (Scorch).

3 - 9volts plus a AAA pack big whoop, I have more of that in my trooper helmet, not to mention I have 9 D cells on my left shoulder of my predator costume. Now that has some weight among the other greeblies there. :p

ps. why not use wackychimps picture service to show off some pics since your server is down?

{EDIT}: Do'h. Jack already answered that. Stupid page didn't show up.

Yeah, the DCs are made by TKMark, who hopes to sell them. Not sure what his exact plans are. Not to be confused with Talon's- there seem to be at least three blaster makers right now.

Hope that helped.:)

I said SIX 9vs......(three wired, PLUS three backup) ........and a two-up AA pack. Not AAA.;)

Plus two fans, and about 45 ounces of fiberglass resin, with almost two fiber mats.

:p

9 D cells, huh? Are those reliable? Wouldn't something else work better? Two batteries never impressed me........D's and those annoyingly big 6vs. I've never owned a 6v flashlight that was worth a damn. And that's just one tiny bulb.

this thread should be quarantined...

cause its frickin SICK... :eek

good lord those things look awesome. in every way.

the builds are so clean looking all the lines are so sharp... even your personal paintjobs are awesome.

this is one of those kits where your probably gonna end up with more than one, cause youll paint one wild, leave the other white... then decide to paint that one, then get another plain... and so on and so forth... :lol

seriously sick. :thumbsup :thumbsup

I haven't looked at this thread in a while and.......

HOLY CRAP. :eek (I dont often use that smiley)

Those are, hands down, the best trooper suits I have seen in my life.

There are hundreds of pics from 3 days of trooping. I am really surprised that so few have been posted yet. Ours will be up within the next week on the Polymer Armory website.

Do you have a link to the Polymer Armory website? I met some of the folks from this group a few years ago at Dragon Con when they did a whole Appleseed group. It was amazing and I've always been interested in that.
BTW, those RC pictures are the coolest thing I've seen in a long time.

Cool web site
The one thing that Frosts my corn flakes is the fact that I cannot find any body on the RPF in my area
(Cleveland) with this kinda of talent, I have been molding and casting for 25 plus years and any body I do find wants big Money just to sculpt or vacuum form anything and they have no interest in any type of armor project.

Any how, Sorry for the sour grapes had to vent :confused

Once again cool site, and i am looking forward to getting a RC armor kit
maybe a new project will pull me out of this rut

Andrew

Got to see the RC's in person at DCon. The suits are freakin' awesome and the guys in'em are friendly and good natured (even after wearing the armor for hours and hours several days in a row...) B)

I got this pic with them - I like to call it "Old School meets New School" or, what a heckuva crossover story that would be.. :lol :lol

You guys look great and have done some really terrific work. I wish you sold finished helmets and not just kits. I would have really loved to have one (or maybe a set) but don't have the talent to put one together.

Thanks for letting me know, I thought he just did the paint and I would have to do the rest. This is really good news. :D

New to the forum, but I have to say seeing these guys at d-con was very cool. This armor is on the wish list. :thumbsup
