anyone done a replica of the military type smoke grenades - AN/M-18 and others? seems like it would be a cool prop to replicate. cursory research shows that you can find the spoon mechanism on them fairly easy. i'm thinking a cardboard tube and simple metal endcaps would make a perfect body. pretty good prop as they're in so many things.

for an example, the M7A3 in the matrix -

I used to have a plastic model kit of one of these. It was pretty accurate, not sure if I still have it. I am not sure who made the kit but I remember that they also produced an M67 Fragmentation Grenade kit as well. It may be packed away somewhere. I'll try to find it and take some pics of it.

I could likely get you a few (used) that you could then rework. We use them to train all the time.

Another cheap way to make decent looking replicas is to use the newer Monster Energy drink cans with the re-sealable lid....they look pretty nice with a paintjob and a pin inserted through the side of the lid. Not 100% accurate, but fun for display or costuming.

Does anyone know if things like dummy grenades or the dummy fuze assemblies can be shipped to Canada. I'd love to make up different types of dummy grenades but I don't even know if they're legal to ship here. I don't want to order something, then have it siezed and destroyed by customs.

You'd need a degree to figure out Canada Customs rules/ regulations sometimes. Airsoft guns are prohibited but M203 grenade launchers for the M16 rifle aren't, go figure.
