Replica Booster finish question

Ok, I'm posting here because I am not able to post in the JY yet...wish I could as I'm in on all of Russreps parts for the obi.
I have seen that some are requesting Black Oxide as a finish. What does black oxide look like? does anyone have an example?

It looks like gun blue, as on the originals. This is because it's essentially the same process. I'll try to dig up a pic.

Well in this thread are pictures of what black oxide looks like after it's been put through the ringer anyway :lol

black oxide looks to me more "flat" to use a paint term

That depends on the finish on the metal prior to the chemical treatment. Just like bluing.
