Replica Bond Omega Seamaster sources?

Is that a rust mark I'm seeing on the back of the bracelet on the right hand side in the last photo?

Hey Flagg,

I have no idea what it was; I didn't notice it until I posted the pictures. All I know is that it came right off when I rubbed it with my finger. There's no residue or anything left behind.

Best I can figure, it happened while I was cooking. The watch is a bit loose on my wrist, so there is quite a bit of the backside exposed if it's hanging just right.

But anyway, like I said, whatever it was came right off without leaving any marks, so I'm still happy.

As far as watches are concerned, it's the best $218 I've ever spent.

Well, got my Rolex Submariner. Less than a week from time of order to day of delivery. I ordered it Sunday morning and got it on Friday.

Anyway, on to the pics (ignore the fingerprint smudges on the glass ;) )

It truly is a work of art.

Enjoy.

Out of curiousity, does the second hand sweep or is it tick-tock? Looks fab either way...

Hey Mike, it's a sweeping second hand.

If anyone's interested, it's supposed to be a swiss ETA 2836 movement.

I really have no idea what that is even after reading about it :lol

After I set the time on it, it hasn't gained or lost any time, so I'm a pretty happy camper so far.

The only issue I seem to be having is the date change. I'm not really sure how to set it so that it rolls over at midnight instead of 24hrs after I set it. If anyone has any experience with these watches, I'd be more than happy to hear it.

Thanks,
Fred

to set the date pull it half way out the pin not all the way

that part I've got, that's the same as my luminox. The problem I've seem to run into is if I set the date, at say 3PM, the date doesn't roll over until 3PM the following day.

I'll pay attention to it tonight to see if I'm just imagining things.

Mechanical watches change over the date at midnight, not 24 hours from when you set them...:D

The only problem with that theory is that a mechanical watch doesn't know the difference between 12 PM and 12 AM, so if you manage to time it right, you can get it to cahnge over at 12PM instead of AM. I think I fixed it by winding the watch 12 hours ahead, thereby getting the date change to occur at 12AM.

On my (real) Seamaster Professional, pulling it out half-way makes it ready to change the hours; all the way does the minutes. To change the date, one uses the half-way one and just goes hour by hour - can tell whether you're going past 12:00 am or pm by watching when the date changes. No biggie.

yeah, but on a submariner (genuine as well as replicas), pulling the winding wheel halfway out changes the date. Pulling it all the way out changes the hour and minute (but doesn't cause the date to roll over). And unscrewing the wheel until it disengages the threads allows you to wind the watch manually.

Well, after arriving late to the party I was inspired to pick up a replica Seamaster from TrustyTime, based on the good review (thanks Fred!).

My time from order to arrival was only five days, so I'm pretty impressed with speed and communication was great through the entire transaction.

I didn't get the exact Bond model Omega, 'cause I wanted one with the 24hr hand, but it still has the look anyway. It is pretty much exactly what I was looking for in a watch; hefty, solid, and classy. No complaints here!

These aren't the greatest pics, but I figured I should post something... :)

NIce watch, Winston :thumbsup The GMTs are pretty sweet, aren't they? Now go over to www.rwg.com and see how you can make it better ;) :lol

I've been going back and forth between either the Omega SeaMaster (like the Bond version) and the Omega Planet Ocean SeaMaster. From what I've read, the PO gen. 4 is the closest replica to the real deal. It keeps excellent time and has super bright luminosity.

After a week with the sub., I can say that I'm pretty darn happy. With a few minor exceptions, it looks and feels just like the real deal. And only an expert would notice the differences. It keeps pretty good time. Just like my friends genuine, it gains and loses a few seconds every day, depending on how you lay it down at night.

Best watch money I've spent in a long time.

Hey gang,

I figured I'd post this for anyone who might be interested. I had this watch out in the atlantic ocean this weekend. I was in the water for about 2 1/2 hours and the watch was submerged for over 95% of the time. While I wasn't diving with it, it survived beautifully with no leaks and no condensation.

If anyone is still on the fence about getting one of these watches, I say go it; you will not be disappointed :thumbsup.
