Repainting A Latex Mask

Well I've decided I want to repaint my predator mask, instead of layering more paint on top of it. I was wondering, do you guys just scrub it with warm soapy water to remove the paint? I have a seal on it, but the paint slightly cracks when the latex is bent or flexed. I really want to make sure I do it right so I don't rip the latex or ruin it if I do it wrong.

It was done with Acrylics, and I have a thin layer of gloss seal on it.
