Remember when LucasArts made good games?

X-Wing would be incredible, especially with the original trilogy theme and modern PC graphics. that was a fantastic game I wish I could play even now on my current machine.

Agreed, X-Wing, and especially Tie Fighter were my favorites. They were the first games that felt very immersive for me and also felt like I was IN the Star Wars universe instead of watching it. Would LOVE to see those games with modern graphics. The outer space levels of Halo Reach had a similar feel to me.

Lucasarts games I loved:

Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis

Day of the Tentacle

Star Wars: Rebel Assault

Tie Fighter

X-Wing

Dark Forces

You know what game totally rocked my world, but still hasn't been made over for PS3 or PC or anything is the rockin' Sega Star Wars Trilogy Arcade game they released not too many years ago. THAT game is SOOOOO awesome and would play it all the time at the arcades or wherever it was. Eventually was able to bet it on one credit.

Another goodie I used to love back in the day (not lucasarts) was Wing Commander 3. Heheh... Don't hear that name much anymore...

I just haven't been too interested in the lineup of Star Wars games made today. Seems like you REALLY have to be careful what games to buy. It used to be pretty easy to know a game was gonna be awesome or not, but a lot just seem lame these days and pumped out fast.

Still almost nothing beats a good round of 8-bit NES Contra action! Up up down down left right left right A B Start! WOOO! Loved the days when buttons were simple, ha!

Wing Commander 1-3 were great. As was Privateer.

My ultimate game:

+ The "sandbox" elements of Privateer
+ Better detailed economic modeling
+ Allowing for actual smuggling (both via passive means such as forged documents and shielded containers, and active means such as limited use dampening fields, hotwiring engines for bursts of speed and/or maneuverability, shield management, re-routing of power to various weapons systems to overpower them momentarily, etc.)
+ The space combat of XWA
+ With full-scale ship interiors
+ And a first-person shooter + RPG elements for a seamless "ground game"
+ Combined with a sprawling (co-op optional) SP campaign.

No, that was NOT SWG, but it's what I'd hoped SWG would be. Of course, no one will ever make my ideal game. They'd rather make Battlefield: Call of Honorable Medals and Jedi Wars: Star Knight Inconceivable.

Would be fun to storm a star destroyer and take over it...

That's exactly what you should be able to do in the Battlefront game. They had something like that in 2, but it was far from perfect. I want to get on a shuttle, flown by players, and have a bunch of players in the shuttle. Shuttle either lands in the enemy ship's flight deck or docks and burns through, then players inside storm the ship. Then other players would be on that ship to repel them. It seems like a simple idea...

I'd like to see a full star destroyer invasion type game. I mean, like the entire ship is open and complete. Not some half fast thing they did in BTF 2, but like be able to scout every aspect of the ship's interior. That would be sweet

I seriously would get Dark Forces if they remade it exactly to the original but with modern graphics of course

There's a Jedi Academy mod project doing just that. the first six levels are available, I believe. Not the full game, though.
