So I have an Orhadar/FabricOnDemand Spiderman costume. Recently I finally took the time to put soles on it. I did leather soles attached via Barges glue. I then put insoles on the inside of the costume. It was my understanding that this is a relatively common setup. The problem I am having is that after only 1.5 days of wear there are holes worn in where the costume rubs on the insole (I'm using superfeet green insoles) near the heel. Now I'm fine with the fact that costumes are not the most durable garments, but 1.5 days is pushing it.

Has anyone else had this problem? How did you fix it or reinforce the heels? Are your insoles freefloating inside the costume or glued down? What is the best way to go about repairing the spandex and adding more reinforcement given the proximity to the sole which makes it very difficult to sew?

    Why did you choose leather?

Neoprene aqua boot inside the foot, then shoe goo onto a rubber sole.
