Rehashed Darth Vader Helmet

So now that I got myself the Darth Vader ANH FX Lightsaber, I was thinking that it looked a little lonely on the wall :lol. Then I remembered that around 5 years ago we had got our youngest son a Darth Vader helmet for a couple of bucks on ebay; the ones that have the dangling chest box, voice changer etc. Was pretty corny at the time but he played with it for aaaaages.

I rummaged through some boxes in the garage today & actually found it ! It was badly knocked around with scratches, dents, holes, etc. It's made of plastic, and the black colour was really dull.

Had a go at it with some filler & finished it off with a couple of coats of glossy black spray.

When my wife walked in earlier she was about to throw the divorce papers at me :lol as she asked me "Now how much did you spend on THAT !??".

She only believed me when I showed her the 'chest box' tucked into the helmet.

This is it, the revamp of a revamp of the Darth Vader helmet

I'm starting to see a trend that could catch on: Revamped Star Wars toys that have had a makeover. I'm really enjoying what you and others have accomplished with the toys, pushing them toward presentation items instead of things for the ankle biters.

..... my 'poor man's version' of this prop, but I just had to have one without spending big bucks.

i think softening the ''ridge'' at the brow and bringing it to a point would do a lot for it. and something must be done about the neck, but now i'm reminding myself that it's just a hasbro toy and probably not worth that much effort. the muzzle does have a nicely angry look to it though...
