Saw a pre-screening, The middle of the States are Free America, the East and West Coast are occupied.


They explain how the North Koreans would have access to get in the states with out a fight......

It was a fun movie......

I didn't see the original though!

Hey, I know more then a few east coasters who would join me in making it quite painful for anyone to get a "Foothold" here lol. but yeah, nowhere near as well prepared as the south lol

I may see the movie in theatres, but more then likely DVD. I LOVED the original.

Another one of the years remakes that gets the thumbsdown 2 thumbs down the 1st one was way better you liked the the two brothers and their counter parts, in the new one when one of their people died it was like Oh well, pass the popcorn opcorn.

Preferred this remake over the original. Weren't they spose to change all the Chinese emblems in the film too North Korean? Just watched the film and it looks they didn't do a very good job with the change over.

The worse film of 2012 along with "Battleship".

So glad they cancelled the proposed "Connect Four" movie.

I just finally saw this.

The original is one of my favorite movies of all time. I will stop and watch it every time I come across it.
With that said, I did NOT like this version.
I am biased, but to change it so much from the original turned me off from it.

From them having one of the original MAJOR characters getting killed, to the way that they took out some parts like how they had to grow even more by having to shoot Daryll in the original for not telling them he was bugged, to a more "calmer" way it was changed in this version was I think trying to make it not as aggressive as the original. I think that part was focal originally in the way that you saw Robert grow and finally started to lose it and now only cared about the safety of the group.

The pilot is now a recon soldier, the girls were Matty's girlfriend.

It was way milder than the original.

I could go on more, but I was not impressed as I thought they would have done this movie justice.

I agree with Lflank that at least the original was dismissible as Cold War propaganda.

(I remember when our "duck and cover" under our desks at school was changed to become " earthquake drills" lol

I am a big fan of the original too, and I picked the remake up on Bluray without looking into it which was a huge mistake because I am really disgusted with the remake, it is horrible.
