Recaster Alert: Thermal Detonators

The video in the auction goes to a photobucket account that contains the name: 'nuclearsphinx'. Nuclearsphinx (now banned at the RPF) had expressed interest in purchasing a TD in THIS thread (post #4).

Thanks for the info Nexus6. Cooter Davis was licensed by me to work my casts while I was taking a break. I guess it's good to know where it came from. Not sure what i can do otherwise but I'll see if I can get eBay to stop his sales.

No problem, Rachel. Out of curiosity, is it possible that nuclearsphinx is just selling the one he bought from Cooter Davis? The wording of the auction infers that he has just the one... *shrugs*

FWIW, your TDs are some of the best I've seen. :thumbsup

Good question. In fact I thought that may have been the case but, unless he bought several, he's sold them before. I'd like to believe he might be a stand-up chap but, two things bother me. 1. He's banned from these forums already. 2. he says
"...and needs to be polished up to finish it. I did not do this in case I decided to paint it instead so your choice."

I have never sold a detonator unpolished and to my knowledge, neither did Cooter Davis, so, he's recasting.

To be clear, I wasn't defending him. I didn't know him, or ever (to my recollection) have any business dealings with him. I was just - - - asking. :)

EDIT: BTW, to save anyone having to search for it, nuclearsphinx was banned for "a shady Junkyard deal".

Weird. I checked out that link and that auction is not my design, while the current one is.

This may require further investigation but I'm still skeptical. eBay is the new Mos Eisley.

So it is solid, not hollow.

That is the only other TD I found in his feedback.

The TD in the link you posted is not hollow, it is ready made with inside electronics etc.
 
I sware it seems like you people take something and run with it generally to cause problems for someone else. I read that guys feedback and it does not look like a recaster to me other than the fact that one of you labeled him that. I would quit trying to cause problems for others especially when you dont know the facts. But, I suppose that is the RPF way Run your mouth and then ask questions later.

IMO I Just think you people should be quiet about crap until you know what you are talking about. And quit trying to cause problems for others! If anything annoys me about forums it is this kind of crap one person running there mouth making acusations that are unwaranted or unfounded. And im not defending anyone; its just the principle behind it!
Let me ask this out of all you people who RAN your mouth in this thread have anyone of you actually contacted that seller to ASK him if what you are acusing him of is true?

And isnt bringing up a banned member against the rules? From what I understand about them it is.

And Rachel did you have a license from 20th century fox to produce merchandise from there franchise like the thermal detonator? If you did not than you recasted that thermal detonator from something you saw on the screen so you should accuse yourself of something like this before others.

Nah, that's an old rule from the CoC that pre-dates uh... *looks* ... Dec 2010. It's a much older change than that, actually.

I think this generalisation was a little uncalled for though.
 
I think that making unfounded acusations that could affect someone elses buisness is uncalled for especially without doing SOME investigation first. And I have seen this in more than one thread here with people jumping on a train that someone else starts making someone else appear as a recaster or something worse when 9 out of 10 times if that person is contacted the truth is found out and it is no where near what these type of threads make them sound like.

You are the definition of irony you call out people for not checking facts then don't check them yourself. (rules on banned members).

For what it's worth i agree people should investigate rather than jumping to an immediate conclusion.

But come on mate practice what you preach don't make wild unfounded accusations yourself.
