Rebel Blockade Runner ILM SS model

Anyone get any decent pics of the interior of the bridge of the Blockade Runner when it was on display anywhere? I'm getting one of the Randy Cooper Blockade Runner kits and I'd like to match the bridge interior, posters and all. I have the SW to Indy book that has one pic, but I'd love to see more, and the other side of the bridge, if possible.

ANY help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,how big the the kit you're buying?,I did'nt think anyone produced a Blockade runner kit?.

I had a old starburst mag with some decent pictures of the blockade runner in it,I'll try and see if I can find it and let you know the issue number, maybe you could find a old copy somewhere?.

Rob.

Doesn't the new "sculpting a galaxy" book have a good CU picture of the Blockade Runner bridge inside?

The best publicised interior shots are in the SW archives by Cotta and Vaz i think, but trust me, youll be hard pushed to replicate the posters in Randys kit, the cockpit plug is tiny, that said, if you pull it off, id love to see it.

Yea, I've noticed that there's not much room in the cockpit, and maybe even tighter quarters than the real thing. I may knock some walls out inside to make room. This is my #1 fav. SW ship and I'm gonna go all out for her. I want to light the engines (and cockpit, which I think was never lit) and get the antenna to slowly rotate. But I won't know how feasable this is until she's actually in my grasp. But she looks about 3 feet long, yes?

Unfortunately I don't have the sculpting a galaxy book. I suppose I better pick it up.

There are some pics found here

I think PHArchivist also has some good pics from a recent visit to the exhibit.

Oh I highly doubt any frame in the film shows it. But it was there in the model when they filmed it, as I understand it.

Is that poster in the cockpit in the movie?

Actually, it's supposed to be a playboy poster.

And with that information (not to border too much on breaking RPF rules) a quick Yahoo image search "filled in the blanks" an would set up an aspiring model maker quite well.

Those are amazing pictures of the interior of the RBR bridge. Getting pictures must have been a real bugger; the opening is quite small and dark - hard to get the lens to focus.

I have a question regarding the posters. The Playboy poster is proper vintage, and very nice by the way . I have to wonder about the StarWars poster though; whether it was added after ANH. Do we know whether Tom Jung's theatrical release poster was produced before the effects work for ANH were underway ? Likely not; especially given that the RBR was one of the first ships completed; albeit re-worked from the proposed Falcon to the RBR.

Wouldn't make a difference to anyone building this monster today; it's there now thats what counts - just curious.

That's a good question.............considering they re-used the RBR for Jedi. I wonder if they paid homage to the first film in Jedi???

Dave :)

It's amazing what you can learn by reading. I hauled out my "Sculpting the Galaxy" book last night. On page 5 there is mention of the posters. Apparently in the mid-90s the miniature received a restoration prior to going on display. Part of the restoration was to return the RBR to how it appeared in ANH (it was modified for Jedi). At that time the modeler, John Goodson, gave the ship a new paint job, repaired some missing pieces and added the posters on the bridge. The StarWars poster was from a video cassette cover. Mystery solved.
