Real life saber grip alternatives

Trying to build a complete found parts lightsaber (not OT screen version, just a custom saber using vintage materials like two flash guns mashed together, etc.)

Any suggestions for grips ? I prefer rubber or something more comfortable than hard plastic.

A vintage item is preferable, but open to suggestions.

While it doesn't have the profile of T-track, I've had success with auto body moulding/trim. Also, some rakes or stakes from yard signs have bits with the right profile, but take quite a bit of prep for use. If you want a simple one piece solution, I can't think of any.

If you look at the rubber used in windshield wiper bladed they are generally T shaped. Find some used ones or go by a cheap one slide the rubber T out of the track and modify it a little bit.
