I hate the idea of it.

Why remake? Aren't there thousands of sci-fi/horror books out there. I'm sure at least one would make a great movie.

Why remake?

The answer is the same every time: Money. For movie studios, films are a financial investment. Anything they can do to decrease their risk, they'll do. If that means remaking a film that they feel already has a built in audience of a certain size, then thats what they'll do. Its less of a risk to do a remake than to bank on a completely unknown property.

Another remake made simply because the studio already owns the rights to the material. I guarantee it'll be scifi channel level cgi.

The Hellraiser movies have been getting so bad that they each should just be a reboot. Last one i saw had the cube being built in space.
