Re-finishing Pewter (Sidkit PKD) - UK

Hi All - Having just bought a Sidkit PKD from a follow RPF member, I'm just wondering what's available in the UK for refinishing the top receiver, etc. I've searched here as well as the other obvious forum but I'm still unsure. Any assistance would be appreciated as I prepare to start building. I'll be aiming for the weathered look in the end.


And having read about the potential problems of importing a PKD into the UK, to be looking at the junkyard the other week at just the right time, I'm thrilled!

Bump - any ideas from other UK PKD builders ? I used Aluminium black on my DL-44 but its not great on pewter.

Diluted Novacan Black Patina and heavy polishing works too.... but the metal is tricky on these as mentioned so it will probably take a few tries..... and A LOT of polishing
