Razor saw best for tube cutting?

I was wondering if a razor saw is the best things to use to cut hallow aluminum and brass tubes. Does anyone have other preferences or suggestions?
Thanks.

What size tube are you dealing with? I use this for small tubes and rods, plastic too Bench Top Cut-Off Saw

That's actually pretty damn nifty! I wish I cut enough tubes to justify buying one. :unsure

I use a Mini Tube Cutter for all my tube cutting applications. Works just fine and can be had for a couple of bucks.

These are cool cutters. I had no idea these things were around. The size of the tubes I'm talking about are just the small ones, nothing major. I probably won't be cutting many tubes in my future builds.

I second the tube cutter. I use it for copper, pvc, and soft steel (electrical conduit, break lines, etc.). Easy, cheap and fast. And it makes a very smooth clean cut. You can find them in your hardware store in the plumbing department. I got mine for about $5.

K&S makes that type of tube cutter and it can usually be found at hobby shops. There are some very tiny tubes it can't cut, but anything above that usually gets chopped nice and cleanly.

I've got the same cutoff saw. It saved me a ton of time when cutting the 100 or so short pieces I needed for framing the windows in my current Romulan BOP build. I placed it in a box to catch the tiny lengths of tubing as the blade tended to send them flying off into space. The only downside is I needed to use a needle file to remove the small burr the saw blade left behind but that took little effort.

With the 20% coupon I had, I think it cost me less than 25 bucks at Harbor Freight so not a huge investment in capital.

I picked up a mini tube cutter today at my LHS. Thanks guys for your help and opinions. I'll probably end up getting the mini cut-off saw too for my wife's project that requires miter cuts of some small wood trim.
