Randy Cooper Blockade Runner Conversion

I was thinking it would be neat to get another Cooper blockade runner and cannibalize parts from an ERTL Falcon kit to create this (my own Photoshop manipulation):

After seeing the storyboards in this month's "Star Wars" Insider and how the blockade runner was originally meant to be the Falcon, this would be a fun custom job to try.

What do y'all think?

Hey does anyone have the "Star Wars" sketchbook that has the Joe Johnston sketch of thos blockade runner configuration? I think there are other details I don't remember that I wanted to research but I can't find a scan of it anywhere online...

Its a pretty cool idea but the ERTL cockpit is going to be too small You'll probably need to scratch a cockpit the correct diameter for Coopers Runner...

You might want to try this ouot with a playmates Runner - a much cheaper option that the ERT cockpipt might actually fit... Just a thought.

I'm sorry I confused it with the brand of the trek vehicles...

Its actually called "Star wars collectors fleet"

if you go to ebay and do a search for blockade runner in the toy section you'll usually find a couple ( I just did and saw a couple but forum rules prohibit posting auctions...). Its the "collectors fleet" version you want. They also made an ISD and an SSD in that line which are both pretty good. Its an electronic toy line similar to what playmates did with the Trek ships which is why I got confused... sorry about that...

You can probably get one for about $20, with some good greeblieing and such it can be made into a passable runner model ...or in your case a prototype falcon

I remember seeing that ship design pop up many times in the original Star Wars comics, probably up to issue 40 or 50. Princess Leia had one for her own mission use, and there was one particular issue where a probe droid wreaks havoc aboard one, killing the whole crew, then shooting Luke's x-wing and disabling it, then he gets aboard and has to destroy the probe droid.
