random retro raygun, my first repaint...

Yes, it's not a replica of any prop that I know of... but I'd seen original repaints in here before and thought you might be interested in this, or maybe even have some tips for me. I wanted to try my hand at painting something before I take a crack at my resin Firefly pistol kits so I don't screw them up. Here she is:



All I used was Testors enamels and some Rub 'N Buff for it, aside from adding a few finishing nails and thumb tacks for details.

Very nice! I like your choice of colors! There are some cool textures and antiquing effects as well! It really looks OLD. Thanks for posting the pic....and I think you'll do just fine on your Firefly kit!

Very handsome! That's a "Razor" sparky gun if I am not mistaken. :cool

Thanks guys, I bought it a couple years ago in a Los Vegas gift shop... in the Flamingo I think. the tag just said "Toy Space Gun" and it had made in china on the side. $3.99 well spent. Here are some older pictures of it back when I found it:
