Just heard about this. This man's work should be respected by everyone. Stephen King cited him as a primary influence in his work. Without him, we wouldn't have several classic episodes of "The Twilight Zone" (including the ever classsic "Terror at 20,000 Feet"), we wouldn't have "Somewhere in Time", "The Incredible Shrinking Man" and Stephen Spielberg owes his career to this man due to his story "Duel". Rest in peace, Mr. Matheson. You will be missed.

He was one of the founders of modern scifi between his books, his tv episodes and the movies he has inspired. I hope TCM does a tribute to him. I'd hope scifi would but that's stretching things a bit.

I agree with you. This man gave us a lot of classic stories, and he deserves to be paid such a tribute, even for one night.

Oh No! :(

So so many stories the man was a machine!

Going to throw in some of his Twilight Zone Episodes

He was a fantastic writer - so many stories just brilliantly done. I hope God lets him outline the future -sure would be more exciting around here.

Rest in Peace Mr. Richard Matheson...you were one of the last greats left and now you are legend. Good bye sir-You will be greatly missed on this world.

Wow, this is sad.

I started reading 'I am Legend' about a week ago (I've read it before, but it's been a few years).

Definitely one of the greats. RIP.
