R.I.P Richard Lynch

Damn! One of the better villain actors of our time.

A late friend of mine (Chris Chulamanis) worked on Invasion USA as an extra (one of the invading terrorists). He described Richard Lynch as "One scary dude!" :eek

Anyone else remember Richard Lynch's guest appearance on "Blue Thunder" (the tv series)?

Kevin

Lynch indeed was a scarey guy on screen. I recall him in Galactica, 1980, Buck Rogers, The Phoenix (I barely remember him in the Blue Thunder TV show, did he also do an Airwolf episode?) and a few other things. Sure he happened to do things a bit over the top, but that is what made him memorable (and it kept him getting a steady paycheck for his work).

I have to admit, Invasion USA was kind of forgettable as a film, EXCEPT for Lynch's role in it as the main bad guy terrorist (with his repeating shot rocket launcher that could fire 11 times without reloading). I will miss him.

Man he was in so so SO many things. :(

They don't make them like him anymore.

He always freaked me out as a kid with the wicked scarring on his face. Later on I came to appreciate how good he really was as an actor. RIP.

Don't forget his turn in Werewolf (1996). He was probably the best thing in that film, except for the ever-changing hairpiece on that one other guy.

One of the main baddies in "The Seven Ups" Opposite Roy Schieder. You name a tv series worth anything and he was on there at least once. The only time I saw him play a good guy was an Episode of Highlander. He played a reformed Evil Immortal. He had abandoned a group of kids and nuns in Cambodia during the end of the Viet-Nam war. When he came back the Khmer Rouge had killed them and the nuns, and it shattered him.

R.I.P. Richard, thank you for making Movies and TV interesting.
