Quick N Nasty M41A Pulse Rifle

So at the next Comic Con I'm attending, I shall be going as "Fluffy", AKA A Xenomorph. He's almost done and my 11 year old daughter will be going as a mini-Ripley from "Aliens". I'm getting her outfit together now and have decided (more fool me...) to make a lightweight M41a out of hardboard, plastic and EVA foam. It's probably going to be fairly rough n ready, but here's the progress thus far...:

Thanks mate! You wait until I make the gun parts! They're mostly going to be foam due to time, and so probably will look a bit ropey!!

This looks so good, dude. You could do the barrel vent and stock in styrene. The SPAS cage might be a trick. The cheapo airsoft ones aren't 1:1, so the the scale might just work for your mini-Ripley

I've ordered 2 cheap Spas 12s from 2 different places and have been let down by each place. Which sucks as I wanted to use those. I can't seem to find any ANYWHERE now! I'm just gunna EVA the lot, lol! Probably making the cages from styrene sheet.

UUUgh....more sanding. I HATE sanding..!! I may just disguise some of the rough areas with plenty of nice weathering!!

Hey, it looks like a fun build though. The vents are tough to do. I agree. I've done a few pulse rifles myself and those dang vents are never right when I get done.

They were a nightmare! I wish I had some poly to make them out of. As it was, I only had thing EVA and as I'm on a strict time budget, I had to use what already have!!

Ooh, well I'm getting there. Another update. Tonight I made the barrel and shroud (sheesh!) Yes yes yes, I know some of the dimensions are off etc. But do I care? Nope!! Stock and grip tomorrow, methinks!

Quick cheeky coat of paint before I pack. Greeblies and weathering when I get back! Hopefully the weathering will hide the rough bits! Heey, don't judge, it's mostly craft foam and card. Always was gunna be a 5ft build, so don't get too close! Right, breakfast!
