Qui-Gon CE is here!

Isn't the Qui-gon CE coming out next week? Any word on if the body is cast resin or zinc (have they decided?) and whether the body is painted or what?

And...any thoughts on who has the best prices on these bad boys?

This, with the Luke V2 and the Dooku is one of my favorite sabers. I'm psyched. I just wish I could get the LE for less than $369.

I can get you the Qui-gon CE for $175 shipped.

The CE was held up because MR decided to go with Die cast not resin, so it will be all metal.

Actually, my big question is the quality of the black painted bits. Will it be like a denix mauser and flake off in your hand?

I was hoping for a brushed sleeve. Is that accurate?

Have these shipped yet? I'm dying. I know the sleeve is metal, but the emitter, the button? How tough is the black paint? The wait is killing me.

Anyone else love this saber?

I saw a few sellers on eBay saying that they have them in stock. Has anyone gotten their QuiGon CE yet? I'd love to see some pix. :)

I was never a big fan of that saber. Not to say that it doesn't look the part because it certainly does but I just don't like the look of the saber personally.

i'm the opposite. i've always loved that saber, and am beyond excited about the low cost CE that will be coming to me this week :)

Cool... to each his own. People might not like sabers I think are the "stuff"...... that's the way the world works..... :D

I'm still waiting for to take a photo shoot of the CE and LE together to show any differences betweent the two, big or small.

Check out the link above. There are some comparison pics there that were posted by RedfordFilms.

I've never liked it either. It doesn't look like you could fit the guts in it to get it to work with the way teh grip is cut half into it.

i always liked the saber. it was interesting, yet had a simplistic design on there.

this may be one of the few MR sabers i end up picking up. nothing against MR, just dont have 400$ to lob at a dust magnet, be it signed or not, no matter how cool it is. sub 200$ though, i can make excuses about it ;)

mine came in today.

it's a LOT heavier than i was expecting. very nice looking overall. i think it's well worth the price tag.

this now marks my first MR saber, and if the CE line continues like this, i'm sure to get more.

Funny, I was going to type that exact thing. :) Got mine today, and again...my first MR saber. Very nice piece...well worth the money. I think they did a great job with this, and I hope to see more. I would definitely be interested in other CE pieces. Kudos to MR on this one.

Okay, got mine in the mail yesterday. This is my favorite saber and I've lusted for one for years. The CE version didn't disappoint.

First of all, I snagged it for 140.00 shipped, but I wouldn't have minded paying more. Don't pay 199, you can find it for much cheaper.

Second, the packaging is great. I really like the box with the prop story inside, and it's easy to get the saber out to 'play'. One strange nitpick...the saber is wrapped in tissue, not bagged. This is a pain for me because I like to 'peek' at my props and this makes it inconvenient. Once I have my display case built for all my sabers it won't be an issue.

Third, the stand. Goofy. I'd rather just a bare bones black plastic horizontal stand (think Roman's) than this. And it wouldn't be any more expensive, I'm sure. Maybe the vertical stand is to further distinguish the CE from the LE?

Fourth, paperwork. It does come with a miniscule cert. of authenticity, but mine was for a 'Scaled Replica.' I don't know if that's an accident or what. I personally don't care in the slightest, but it might ire some people.

Fifth, the saber seems pretty durable. I was worried about the paint but it seems to be fairly tough. I mean, I'm just displaying it...does anyone costume with these things? The saber is heavy and that contributes to the illusion of quality.

Sixth, the button is apparently anodized, and mine actually looks like a very coppery red. I don't know if it's just mine, but it looks different than in pictures I've seen. Truth be told, I like it better than the plain red, so I'm not going to worry about it.

All in all, I couldn't be more satisfied. I love it. I know this is a simple saber to do as a CE--time will tell if they can keep quality/cost with more complex sabers like the Obi ANH or the Mundi, but I will continue to be a supporter of this line based on the first offering. I've had a number of LEs, fan-made sabers, and real flashguns, etc., and I have no qualms about proudly displaying this CE with the rest of my collection. Bravo MR.

I think the little certificate is correct. These new CEs seem to be full size versions of the minis quality wise. I'm wanting to pick one of these up too.
