Questions about silicone busts (the heads, ya pervs)

I was wondering, can someone break down the various steps needed for making one of these?

I see some awesome talent on the board, and I do have a ton of questions ranging from "How the hell do you make that?" to "Can they be made in 1/6th scale?" to "Wait, how do you paint that anyway?". The only problem is, there is literally NO place online that I can find that breaks it down into a step by step instructional list.

I don't mean I need help sculpting something, I really just like the busts being made and while I understand how resin and actual sculpting works, and even how you can chisel stuff out of stone, the silicone busts just break my brain somehow.

I know I can't be the only one on the board wondering how these things get made, so guys, please share the info.

Pics would help too :)

Not exactly the kind of silicone that I meant. I was referring more to the things like the Tom Welling bust, or the various Bale or Ledger busts.

check out either the Brick in the Yard or Smooth-On site-- also You Tube is a wealth of knowledge on this.

There are some nice photos of the mold making process in this excellent thread:

yep, that about sums it up.

whatever you do though, dont open the mould too early
