Questions about making a GOW side arm.

So I am in the process of making a Gears Of War costume for comic-con (actually only on the Lancer right now). My Lancer is the NECA Replica with a Blaster Core 4.0. So now I decided I wanted to have a side arm also. I am sorry to say though my skills are pretty limited. I don't really have the skill to make anything from scratch. So I have to go with something I can get at a local store and modify it. The two side arms I am looking at are the
Boltok Revolver

and the Snub Pistol

Now like I said building these from scratch or buying a replica is really not in my budget. So I have to go with a close enough analog.
For the Boltok I was thinking about this Air Zone pistol

I figured I can cut the front orange part off add in a few odds and ends give it a paint job and call it a day.

For the snub pistol there are three different options I was looking at.

Now for the sound this is where it gets tricky. If I go with the Snub Pistol I think I would get another Blaster Core. This type of weapon can be several different things full auto that sort of deal, something the Blaster Core would be perfect for. If I go with the Boltok I think the Blaster Core would be over kill. because a revolver would not really be a full auto weapon doesn't have a clip or anything like that. So with that in mind I found this toy gun at my local Walmart.

It has a pretty decent sound when the trigger is pulled. If you pull the slide back you get a reload sound and if you plug the pretend silencer in, well it becomes silenced LOL. The only sound it doesn't make is an empty click sound. (I figured I could wire in a small momentary witch in series with the battery, into the grip of the gun so when its pressed or let go (depending if it's always open or closed) there would be no sound.
Here is a short video of the sounds.

So after reading that war and peace size post. I guess what I want to know is this.
1. What do you think would be a better analog? One of the pistols for the snub (which one if you wouldn't mind saying)
or the analog for the Boltok?
2. If going with the Boltok would it be worth putting down an extra 120.00 for another Blaster Core just to get one extra sound or just go with the sound board from the toy gun and add in the momentary switch?

I just happened to come across this, sorry to say im 4 months late on trying to help you decide, but I was wondering if you made decision on what sidearm you went with, if you did choose one.
