Hey,
This is my first post (Woo.) and I have some questions about Han SoloÂ’s Droid caller from A New Hope.

I bought a BC Kobold that I believe is the correct Kobold that Han Solo used in A New Hope. The only thing(s) that confuse me is that “Bulb” on the side of the Kobold and how to attach the Camera Screw Mount to the Kobold.

As for the “Bulb” on the side I don’t know what looks right and what looks wrong. Frankly every time I see a Kobold that “Bulb” looks different.

The other thing that bothered me is that on www.partsofsw.con it says “A camera screw mount was screwed into the bottom.” but the camera screw that came with my Kobold does not “Screw in”

If someone could clarify this for me that would be great. :)
Thanks,

The Kobold you have there is close but not exact. Han's doesn't have the step in the transition from the black area to silver.

And those thumbscrews are not the same as the one on the prop.

As for the bulb those can be unscrewed. I've seen several different ones on these Kobolds including different colors.

Thanks for your replay :)
lol, Yeah I didn't even notice that the Camera mount screw had a different side notches until I looked back.

Also thanks for clarifying the "Bulb" thanks.

But one thing I'm confused over, what did you mean "doesn't have the step in the transition from the black area to silver".

What part of the kobold are you talking about?

Thanks,
Tim

Maybe I described it badly.

Look at the silver part where the neck narrows. There is an extra 'step' on yours.

Have a look at what Chris and Chris say at http://www.partsofsw.com

You're not suppossed to post a LINK to an ONGOING Ebay auction unless it's your own. :eek

Woops. sorry fixed.

But does it look like the right one?

I have the same pic from CA Science Center. LOL
I also have some from FIDM though with "no flash" allowed plus zooming in on this detail, they aren't very good...
HTH.

That looks like the right model for the ANH caller in the auction.
Of course you just posted it for all to see so you might have some competition when bidding.

I believe those exhibit pics are of an ROTJ caller.
