Question/seeking suggestions about HP robes and outfit

Hello! I'm finally getting around to buying an official robe, as I've grown out of my hand-tailored one. I am at a huge dilemma of getting robes at the WWoHP or buying from the Warner Brother's website.

My question is: What is the difference? The price, for sure, but I'd rather pay more now for a higher quality robe. The warner brother one looks way better in the picture, but pictures can be deceiving.

What are your opinions on robes --as well as the under-outfit(the vest/cardigan, button-up, tie, etc)

I don't really want to pay 80$ for those, either, so any cheaper suggestions are loved :p

I am in slytherin house.

I've not seen either in the flesh, but on the WB site it says:

"This officially licensed authentic prop reproduction of the Hogwarts school robe is made directly from the motion picture costume, all the way down to the hidden wand pocket. This hooded, high quality poly-cotton custom dyed robe has full sleeves and features the embroidered Gryffindor crest"

The info on the WWoHP info is much less, so it may be it's a cheaper version to speed up production (rationale being - they'd get far more "spur of the moment" transactions as opposed to the WB site which probably has more "considered" transactions)

If in doubt, why not drop WWoHP an email asking if it's exactly the same as the one on the WB site. You never know, it may turn out to be exactly the same and you could save yourself $50 :)

Neither of them are completely accurate. A friend who is very into Potter costumes explained it to me one time........I believe it has to do with things like there should be a seam down the center inside of the hood, but not the outside (or maybe it was the other way around)....that the house color shouldn't line the entire garment, but just about 4 inches or so in from the edges except for the hood.....and that the colors used on the reproduction robes are usually much brighter than the screen used costume card fabric swatches we've ordered. you also need to look at the robes and compair them specifically to the exact movie you're going for. The first two movies used the same uniforms until they changed for the third film, and the rest of the movies have stayed consistant with POA. Good Luck, and I hope I didn't confuse you more!

Having seen both in person, they are both good robes! I was actuAlly more impressed with the wwohp ones... But that may have been the stars in my eyes!

Neither cloak is made of the correct fabric.

The WWoHP one is a disgrace. Its very synthetic feeling and isn't lined properly.

Thanks all, I think I will drop them an e-mail. Yeah, the WWoHP ones just look so generic, but the 50$ price difference(especially when buying the whole lot) is really making me think how much it matters lol :/

The minor differences I don't really mind, since there are so many costume changes and I like the books better, anyway. The fabric is a different story though, I was really hoping that atleast the WB ones would feel as nice as they look. As far as colors go, the ones on the website look to me exactly like the on-screen ones; slytherin, at least, but I guess irl it's probably different.
