Question Regarding Rubie's Two-Piece Helmet

Has anyone ever modded one of these things or heard of it being done? I figure it would be a good cheap alternative. Might need some reinforcement. maybe via bondo and fiberglass along with plastic shielding in place of the mesh...

If I remember correctly, the Rubies helmet is larger than would be preferred, to the point that someone posted a picture of the BS helm literally fitting inside the Rubies helmet.

Since it's bigger than the actual prop it works for bigger guys like me, 6'2" 300#+ . It's ABS plastic so weld type solvent glue works. Tamiya makes one. I used Ambroid pro weld on mine. Plastruct makes one as well. After it's welded it's pretty sturdy. Rubies "mirrored" the cheek details, so if you want it accurate there's work to do. I have not modded mine yet.
