Question about the training remote...

I am finally getting around to finishing this piece and am curious as to what others have used to add some weight to it. It basically just needs areas hollowed out, rims and the scotch glow tape stuff. I have heard others have filled theirs inside to give it some heft, but am curious as to what you have filled it with. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

If its LIGHT....you can HANG IT.

WHY you would make it heavy? How often ya plan on handling it?

LOL...I honestly hadn't thought of hanging it, but it is light enough that if you were to bump the bookcase where it is going I think it would go a tumbling. Hmm...maybe an acrylic case with it hanging inside?

Even if it isn't light, hang it. :)

I'm on board with Frank on this one... I LOVE to load resin guns with lead shot, but this iis a prop I wouldn't bother adding weight to.

Don't forget the pencil outlines!

i know im new to the whole prop making thing, and i am nowhere in the same league as you guys, but this is the first thing that came into my mind: go to one of those retal store display warehouses (or possibly a store in the mall or something that is going out of buisiness) and see if they have one of those cases that revolve (like to display sunglasses, lighters ect.) take out the shelves and attach it to a small clear rod, and power it up. It will be smallish and it will give it a movie like motion.

I've had a Cerney remote on my shelf for five years now and I'm glad it's light for the exact reason you stated. I've bumped the shelf at least two times that I can remember and the thing came tumbling off. It fell four or five feet onto my wood desk and there wasn't a scratch on it. I'm a little shocked actually. But had it been weighted, I don't think it would have survived undamaged.
