Question about making slime or spit or phlegm

Hey folks, was hoping you might be able to help me out with something please?
I'm making something that i want to look like its been chewed up and spat out, so it'd need a covering of spit/slime/phlegm.
I'd like it to look as realistic as possible, but not wet, liquid or slimy.
So does anyone know of some sort of silicon or rubber or gel or gloop i could use that would give me the effect but would harden?
Any pointers would be appreciated!

If no one has a better answer, 5 minute epoxy might work for you. It's clear, with a slight yellow tint.

I've had really good success with caulking silicone mixed with green food coloring to simulate wet slime on my Ghostbusters Flight Suit.
