Quasimodo Darth Vader helmet - Version II

Looks amazing. I've had my Rotj trooping setup for a while and am now working on an ANH. Hope to use that as a display piece. Did you custom Te mannequin? Also could u share some pointers of how u wired yours for an outlet? The chest box? wired to the same?

Thanks. The mannequin was too skinny. Height was ok, although it was not the full 6'3". But I was ok with the height. I had to extend out the shoulders by 3" each side.

And once that was done, I padded him with bubble wrap as I put the suit on, seeing the parts that needed to be beefed up.

I used the seams on his suit, which was tailored to Prowse's measurements to make sure it was the correct width. This is how he looks like without the cape. The head was also blacked out so the white face didn't show through the eyes.

For the chest and belt lights, yes I wired them all together. The belt wires ran behind the belt, while the chest one ran behind the side strap to the back. Then they all connected to one adapter to allow 3V each, to a wall plug.

That was about it!

Hi Mac / / Paul,

Im just trying to get a handle on delivery as I've not heard from Bookface for a while.

I am about a week overdue on delivery from the time I ordered and am just a little concerned, as it's a chunk of cash to outlay without communication.

I know you guys are busy busy and have families - I do understand. I'm just after a little update on progress and when I could now expect delivery.
It has been over 4 months.

I did email Paul a week or so ago, but no update as yet.

cheers guys,
Tris

VaderUK, I received an email from Paul on November 6, 2016, just prior to my placing my order for an Quasimodo ESB Vader set. I have since sent him at least four or five emails requesting additional information and I was also going to order the Quasimodo ANH Vader set too, but since I have not received any response, I am not sure what I am going to do. If you paid by PayPal or credit card, you normally have 4-6 months to file a claim for a refund. My agreement with Paul is that if I do not receive my Vader by February 2017 then I will go ahead and request a refund without question. If you make a claim with PayPal or your credit card, then that might get a quicker response from Paul.

It always seems communication with customers seems to be an issue in the prop replica business after payment in full is received by the prop maker, but I always have faith in the RPF and its members. Hopefully, you will receive your Vader soon.

^^^Seems you may be jumping the gun just a tad? Bookface will come thru on this, I feel pretty well assured. When the seller goes radio silent all together for months on end, that's when it's time to worry...

The Quasimodo guys are the best and a lot of their money from these go to help a disabled person. They are often slow to respond because they are busy making helmets but these guys are beyond the best.

Don't worry, you are in good hands and will have the best Vader helmets made IMO.

Paul emailed me today with the info I requested. So I am going to go ahead and order the ANH version to be delivered with ESB version in February. I have faith in this board and the Force.

MTFBY and LLAP and Take Care,

Rick

I mailed bookface shortly after my original post and he has kept in contact since. Yes he doesn't respond straight away but he does respond (sometimes a few days later). My order is placed and my money paid .... roll on delivery day ;0)

Paul is in contact guys, so don't worry.

Best form of contact is via the RPF pm system . Personally, I'm rather excited, especially as my set is due for Christmas

Would just like to thank Bookface and CSMclaren for their hard work on this project.
the final sculpture (because that's how beautiful it is) is stunning.

I've only taken one shot on display and it came out stunning and captures Vaders on screen essence, which is exactly what I wanted.

Hopefully the pics will speak for themselves

And below Christmas Day, showing off to my family!
Even in a "fun pic" moment the armour and helmet are spectacular and still manage to pull off the Vader on screen look.
The armour has an awesome fit as you can see - it's just an awesome setup.
So impressed with this guys.

Cheers :)

The guys can sort you out with one of those as part of your order as an extra.

Well worth it IMO - such a stunning piece to go on display.

Very nice there. I do find it odd that orders do not go out in order they are received though. Disappointing.

You know what's sad... I would rather have had you from the Christmas picture than what we got in rogue1...

The Grey Vader shirt would have been less jarring than the helmet and armor they used in the film.

Why couldn't they use a good fan made or even licensed helmet?

Anyway. WOW. Absolutely top notch.

Great work guys!

Can I share that first photo on my FB page?

With regards to the 2nd photo, I've never seen someone use a t-shirt illustration to complete the rest of his costume! :p
