quality of Taiwanese stuff

...has anyone here ever bought or built one of those Face hugger vinyl model kits on ebay? they are full size, look very good, and seem very accurate. There are about 3 different types, all slightly different lengths, and detail, but overall, the quality is about the same, probably 8 or 9 out of 10.. does anyone have an opinion/experience making one of these models???

Any responses here would be greatly appreciated...

Isn't 99% of that stuff recast? Generally any model kit on eBay that doesn't mention a manufacturer is guaranteed to be recast from another kit. Most of the time they stick to kits that are no longer in production, but it only makes finding the real deal that much more difficult.

I did see a Halcyon kit of the same thing, maybe slightly different details, but then I saw a version that had a longer tail and fingernails. I also saw some wooden narcissus models, thought I cant tell how detailed it is by thie pic

Yeah just about anything from Taiwan is recast and usually of poor quality.
IIRC the Taiwan vinyl kit's are thin and soft on detail.

Halcyon made 2 face huggers Regular and Queen, the Queen has the longer nails.
The Halcyon Narcissus is a styrene kit.

I picked up original Halcyon Narcissus and face hugger kit's last year form folks on the Clubhouse forum.

I will need to check one of those out.. I have seen several of those. Probably better quality anyway
