quake, I said this over on the 405th, but i'll say it here., absolutely amazing work man, your work here's proven that the Mk5 will be a deserved addition to my personal "hall of armors"
pm sent!Hey Quake, Pm me your email address, I have some info I need to give you.
I dont wanna rain on anyone parade, nor throw their thread of topic, but reading this made me laugh.... Really better than master Le... hmm, if i remember correctly he's the reason everone is trying to do this style and method. Its like in Iron man 2 when the government is trying to take tony stark's iron man weapon away and tony shows everyone how far away everyone is from recreating what he's done. Its good but more hammertech good.
but you did just that
Thats pretty rude. Wheres YOUR armor at? :thumbsdown
Also, how is someone making armor that looks great and showing how to do it every step of the way better than saying, "oh hey! Look what I got!."
Check out the last pic, it shows a good place to trim the silver piece.
Back on topic, this build is really shaping up! I think it could stand from a little weathering around the edges of all the little pieces, either a little silver or a little black just to help make the individual pieces pop.
thanks man, i still want to add some more plating on the upper back and front area by the tracks. i need to get caught up on my "hunny do" list here at the house. on the pics of the legs i started weathering it a lil bit with some matt black spray paint but alas i ran out.for sure going to redo the helmet and add more weathering to the entire suit. i prefer the fresh outta battle look myself.

Awesome, good to hear, this suit lends itself well to keep adding pieces on top to add extra detail. Not sure if your familiar with dry brushing but it works great for weathering, I did it to my master chief costume and it really gives the armor a nice battle worn look.
Super easy, just spray paint silver/chrome on to a paint brush and do quick strokes perpendicular to the armor edges, that way just the edges pick up the silver and it gives it an awesome worn metal look.
Helmet still looks the same, its got primer now and I need to go back and fill in very tiny places. Its either been 1000000 degrees here or raining, so I havent has the urge to go outside in a while lol. WOrking on the mkv pep right now. still on the faceplate. Ive been slacking. Lol
So I'm thinking you need to take all the pieces of leftover trash can and make a suitcase to go along with the suit :love
Looks great man, can't wait to see it totally done!
Dungbeetle posted his here. Looks good.
its a pretty cool model.
ok trimmed the tracks making them abit slimmer.also where the masking tape is, i plan to cut there, making the tracks not as long. also i added some 1/8 inch ( i think) rubbery type material. i have no idea what this material is, because i literally found it in a drainage ditch by my house. when i found it, it looked like a brand new gasket for some sorta farm use. will be adding more plastic plates to various areas under the tracks next to the arc to fill in that big silver area...
