Q: TFT display kit to show images/videos?

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this question.

Are there any beginner-friendly options out there to simply display the contents of an SD card and maybe pipe a video's audio track to a passive speaker?
Think in terms of props like an Aliens motion tracker, a (cartoon series) PKE meter or a Pip Boy.
Basically, just power it on, let it run through its boot sequence and it immediately cycles through the stuff stored on the card.

I've not done it personally, but search for Arduino.

They are inexpensive and available in various sizes via Arduino Store, ebay, banggood.com etc.

Just pick up a cheap photo frame. You can find them in various sizes. They take SD cards, some will play MPG1,2 and 4 video files. i used one for a Star Trek TNG display with ship sounds and ship maps. It was just a video with sound effects, but it looped and really looked cool built into a panel.
