Q: Can anyone ID these BDUs? (Patlabor: Next Generation film costume)

These are costume of the upcoming live action "Next Generation Patlabor" film series coning out next year in Japan.

We've IDed the vest and gloves, but having NO luck IDing the uniform top and bottoms.

The shirt appears to be a type of underarmor style with I believe moisture wicking fabric at the chest/underarms
similar to the CRYE tactical combat shirts.

Both the shirt and trousers have integrated padding at the knees and elbows.

Any help apppreciated!

Think I found it... or at least the basic style of it.

The article was from 2011, so they might be available now.

Checked the web site, and they don't really offer the shirt in a Desert/Coyote combo.

The design of the top most closely resembles the field jacket...

A buddy suggested that the production company liked the design and remade it for
production, in the colors they wanted. I'm starting to agree as none of the big airsoft sites
have tactical BDUs in this style. :(
 
I wouldn't be surprised if you're right and they remade the design to be their own, that way they could even reuse it later in other shows. I had no idea there was a live action Patlabor.
 
It doesn't debut in Japan until I believe April
of 2014. They're supposed to be doing 12, 45 minute
theatrical shorts, and then a feature film.

Do a Google search for Live action Patlabor and you
should be able to find the 30 minute press conference...
but it's all in Japanese. :)
 
Okay, so it IS a tactical shirt and not the field jacket. Thanks!

I spent a while last night checking airsoft sites in Japan and HK,
and nobody carries this style of uniform yet, which leads me to believe
they were recreated for the film(s) based on the original design, and are NOT
an off the rack item. :(
 
I've been a gear guy for a while, and I've never seen a shirt like that with the various pads and such. I've seen a Propper shirt kind of close but not nearly split up as this is. This is either a custom job or remake of a very uncommon version.

Kind of obvious, but the gloves are Oakley gloves with the fingers cut off...
 
Yeah, the shirt and pants are apparently patterned off the tactical shirts designed by Tactical Performance Corp., linked to above.

Haven't found anyone who makes an off the rack knockoff. :(
 
In case anyone was still thinking about this series, the vest is an "airsoft" vest with all the pouches replaced.

The chest panel is about 2" wider than the stock one that comes with the airsoft vest, and the front pouches have been swapped for a different style as well.

Do a google/ebay/amazon search for:

DLP Tactical Marinus FSBE Cable Release MOLLE Plate Carrier Vest with 3 Pouches

the DLP-Tactical company doesn't appear to offer the tan color on their web site any longer.
