I took a metal sculpting tool that is usually designed to scrape away clay, because it was metal, I heated up over a gas ring cooker and lightly took away some of the formed clear resin around the creature. Once it hardens again, it looks like water ripples.

O.K let's start on the Predator :mrgreen:
I gave his skin a lighter creamier base coat.
Then once dry, I grinded up a light brown chalk pastel and mixed in a little water to paint on some skin shading.
And once again, Once dry, I added more skin shading but this time using dark brown acrylic paint.
Next I will be matt blacking his armour for a base coat.

I then gave the Pred's skin and dreadlocks a coating of clear varnish (gloss) for a wet look.
The Preds gauntlet lights are added.
and the Creature gets the Pred's visor lasers painted on his head. (but will he become a new trophy ?)

Next I painted the wrist blade that can be attached both backward (like in this pic) or forwards to face the creature.
The loyn cloth is painted a dark brown, then drybrushed a lighter brown and a black wash is added to the folds for depth. I also added a blue vein on the Pred's right leg that will be coverd over tomorrow.
Back of the loyn cloth and the animal skulls have been painted and highlighted.
The Pred's left foot has a drilled hole that continues into the resin base below for pinning. (I did this before I primed the kit).
The small metal bar that will pin the Pred's left foot to the resin base.
The foot is glued down and the pin is inserted... A small amout of superglue is also put into the hole to keep the pin in place.
Once dry, the hole is given a coating of pollyfiller adhesive and left to dry. Once dry it is sanded down and painted to mimic the rest of the foot.

There was a bit of a gap in the corner between the water and the rockface, I filled it in using pollyfiller adhesive.
Once dry and sanded down, I painted it the same colour as the base and added a little bit of water algie and once the glue had dried, I gave a light coating of gloss varnish.
I then added some light brown string to the sword's handle for extra effect.

O.k next update.
I painted over the Preds vien in his right leg and added a small flesh wound on his torso by first painting the blood splatter with acrylic white, then once dry adding a bright lime green and finishing off with a little dab of bright yellow and a clear coat of gloss varnish.
I added some small painted beads to the Preds sword for a trophy effect.
Next, I want to add some new bigger water splashes coming out of the water to give the creature the effect of leaping up out of the water.

I wanted the Creature to look like he is leaping out of the murky water so I made some water using glue from a glue gun. First I added a bit of hot glue onto a non stick surface and once dry, I peeled off the dried hot glue and then added more hot glue to the other side so it is not flat on one side.... Once dried I cut off the excess parts of glue and added the various new water parts with more hotglue to the clear resin base. Once dry I drybrushed a little light brown to the seam parts to mimic murky water.
The new water effect gives the creature a new dimention of leaping up out of the water.... I plan on buying some realistic water effects from a hobby store and paint it onto the hot glue water parts and blend it down onto the base so it all looks as one peice.

Being the Christmas season, I bought some Chestnuts with black netting ( see where I am going with this )
I cut up the netting into various parts that look like they will fit around the Preds leg. Once a good shape is cut I wrapped the netting around the leg until it goes tight and used small plastic ties to keep the netting together. Once secure, I add a little dab of superglue to where the netting meets the Pred's body armour/loyn cloth etc. Take my time and do one at a time making sure not to spill any superglue onto the paintwork. Once dry, I cut away the excess. Now one leg is done it's onto the next leg and then the torso and his right arm.

I know what it is like to have a bad connection Strode, so I went back through and edited all the picture posts to show bigger images, Hope this helps
