There is a kit online - I forget where - you may want to try doing a Yahoo or Google search for the kit. It's not completely accurate but it still looks good and should work well with your airsoft.

This is the G&P kit, I have it and it's pretty good. Not 100% accurate though.

I would steer clear of Special Airsoft Supplies. Not a company with a reputation for reliability. Or communication.
I have the G & P kit and I'm very happy with it. It's an excellent starting point that lends itself to further modification.
There's also at least one new complete airsoft M41A being released in the next year, so it's possible that the g& P kit will get cheaper. Although they're already quite hard to come by.

Don't buy from Special Airsoft Supplies.
They stiffed me over last year. Took my money, didn't send me anything and refused to answer any enquiries.
I got a G&P kit from Wolf Armouries for my TM M1A1 and upgraded the grenade launcher by dremeling out the Spas cage and adding an airsoft Maruzen Remington 870.

Where did you put the Thompson battery? Any pictures of how it turned out?

The battery was a nightmare, as you no doubt know.
I just fitted the Maruzen Remington to rack and dry fire without loading any BBs, so I had the length of the barrel interior to hide a battery.
A guy I was working with at the time was into Radio Controlled helicopters and custom made me a rechargeable battery which was to the correct voltage.
I just hid this down the barrel. The battery life isn't great, but I never intended it for skirmishing.
Unfortunately I haven't got any pictures of it at the moment as it is currently in the loft, awaiting it's stock to be fitted along with final finishing and painting.
Just have to wait until my young kid is out the way before I can finish up!
