Dont know if I've gone over this before but lately there has been a lot of interest in retrofitting stocks and locks on airsoft kits.
First of all this mod is not a drop in replacement for athe G&G system, some work is required. This works on solid resin thompson kits and airsoft guns, it is not viable for hudson kits, deacts or SD guns.
The first point to make is that my original stock had this stock slot and detent pattern and subsequently the HCG stock has the same pattern, but with more detents.
The SD stock as it comes is not viable without mods. It requires that the 3/8" detent holes be drilled to size and then the 1/4" slot milled out to the correct length.
In this pic below is an un modified SD stock, above is a stock with the correct slot and detent pattern.
Heres a brief photo tutorial on the through and through bolt method, I'll address the push button method in further posts.
Tools required 1/4" drill, drill and tap kit for 1/4-20 bolt. (available as a set), 1/2 drill or motor tool with apropriate cutter/grinder.
The 1/2" hole is best done by using a motor tool and widening the hole to size, using a drill is tough as it wants to walk around in the hole.
The spring and bolt captures the stock detents and the button heads capture the stock so it cannot be over extended.
The lock works by pushing up on the bolt from below thus disengaging the head of the cap screw from the detent and the stock can slide freely
Any questions please ask.
