Pulse Rifle - DESTROYED BY UPS!!! CASE CLOSED 5/18/09

I don't care what the service is, I try to pack it like I could drop-kick it and not break it.

The River headpiece I got from the Propstore of London was two small padded packages inside a box 12"X12"X20".
It should have survived about any drop issue possible.
Running it over with the truck probably would have done it....

I'm just glad you got something back and reasonably quickly. Does the person you sold it to want you to rebuild and resell it to them?

Had a package delivered by UPS today. So far the contents appear to be fully intact. Here's the issue. The driver delivered it to the wrong house!

Same thing happened to me here.

I used their online tracking and by coincidence had the day off work the same day they were to deliver the package. I had had some trouble before so I wasn't taking any chances. I basically "camped out" by my front door pretty much all day waiting for the truck to arrive.

5pm comes- no package. So I called them up. The guy on the line said that "the driver delivered the package but the person at the home refused to pay the customs/duty fees".

I said- What are you talking about?!? I've been home waiting all day and there hasn't been any delivery!

The guy didn't have an answer for me. They had 'effed up and didn't want to admit it. If it wasn't for the fact the guy at the wrong house didn't want to pay for it- I never would have gotten my package... and probably wouldn't have been able to do anything about it!

I don't use UPS anymore either. I tell sellers on ebay to use USPS even if UPS is cheaper.

oh kevin , you better not let derrick see this :lol

I'll throw a little gas on the fire. The other day a package came down the belt I work on. It was open, so I took it the corrections/repack lady. She examines it and all she can find inside is a piece of paper. She says to me "this is all that's inside?" and shows me the paper. It was a copy of an FFL (Federal Firearms License, which one needs to be a dealer in guns and must provide a copy of when shipping a weapon to another dealer) as well a reciept for $1600. She tells me tha package weight is specified at 12lbs. We both immediatly came to the same conclusion.

There was a $1600 gun "missing". A big gun at that. I have no idea if it was ever found. I doubt anyone could have gotten out of the complex with it but you know... thing don't tend to fall all the way out of 3 foot long boxes very often. :wacko

Wow, someone's going to have a very bad day when that doesn't show up.

Well... this little story actually is already on the AL board... somewhere back in 2004 or 05 when it happened.

Sorry Derek- the UPS guys in my neck of the woods couldn't find my house if their lives depended on it.

You might wanna shovel the snow away from the numbers on the mailbox then...hehe

If you get a partly refund AND the remains of the PR you can actually repair it and sell it for full price again.
That way you have a little compensation for all the trouble... :)

The PR will be rebuilt and sent to the original buyer. Matt has agreed to recast some parts that are needed for me. A big thanks to him! He's the best! The stock is bent as well. I think that can be fixed though. Thanks for everyones support during these times of anger, frustration, and extreme sadness!:thumbsup
