Also, be sure that EVERYONE in the loop realizes and understands that this is a PROP weapon and that none of the components is a firearm in the technical / legal sense. On some prop guns that use a real, workable firearm you need to go through some other hoops to legally ship it (the same as for any other real firearm) and I would want to be sure that someone at UPS does not summarily determine that a "firearm" was illegally shipped (or, two firearms made into one weapon system) and pass it on to the feds and thereby try to void any claims, etc.

I don't recall offhand if a real TSMG and/or real Rem 870 was used in your build. Even if not real, some of Matt's replicas can fool people.

Just want to cover any potential, "Hey, that's a gun...no, it's two guns!" responses by people inspecting the pulse rifle. You may want to keep a picture handy from the movie showing the M41A for the benefit of those who are unaware of what a pulse rifle is, the Aliens movie, etc.

Thanks eltee. I did explain to UPS that this was a prop and not a real firearm. Again, fingers crossed.

So, here is the latest. UPS calls and says they are sending someone out to pick up the package for inspection because I filed an insurance claim. They show up and take the gun, box and all the contents from the new owner. A few days go by and no word. A week goes by and nothing. Amost a full two weeks and I find out the gun was shipped back to my UPS store in KY per the tracking number. It's been sitting there since May 6th! Of course no one calls me to say it's back in KY or to tell me about my claim. Nope, They just let it sit there. Plus, no one was told that it was being sent back in the first place! So I call UPS first thing this morning. Talk to the employee. Explain the deal. He can't find my gun anywhere. :confused WTF! So know I'm getting realy P O'd. He tells me I have to call back after 1430 to talk to "Ryan", the manager, to see if he did something with the box. So here is why UPS will never get my business again-

-UPS destroys an $800 Pulse Rifle.
-A claim is filed against them and they confiscate the gun.
-No contact with UPS for almost two weeks.
-UPS returns gun to my state/store without notification.
-Gun sits in store for 9 days without notification to me.
-I call to verify gun in store, employee can't find gun. Told to "call back in 5 hours".

Damn. Good luck with that. I had to speak with the local manager a few years ago regarding packages that got left on my doorstep unattended and went missing to the tune of about $300.

Long story short its the closest I've come to getting in a fist fight with someone in recent times ...and I now get all my packages delivered at my work.

I have a $4500 Touch Screen Register Monitor that has been missing in the UPS void for 10 months now. Hope you have better luck than I did because they PUT A FORK LIFT TINE THOUGH MY PACKAGE. I refused to accept or even touch the package as it had a rectangular hole in both sides and broken glass was pouring out of the box. It has never been seen or heard of again. See you later $4500.

I made it my Vendor's problem as he wants to keep me as a Customer - and there is still no admission of culpability on their part.

Wow being a former UPS employee I am APPALLED that they would try to deliver it as well. As a loader if you have an overgood like that magnitude, there is NO WAY you can load that. Even as the unloader, to get something like that you would be like....whoa..WTF.

Laffo, I would look into taking action in a case of fraud or something of the like against UPS for that. Thats just sheer lack of ethics on UPS's part.

O.K. finally some freakin positive news. I went to the UPS store after work and spoke with Ryan. He had my package set aside for me. He also said he knows that UPS will be sending me a check for $379, not the full $600. But at least I have the gun back and a check in the mail (?).

After examining the damage it is rebuildable. The electronics were not damaged and still function. The cage needs to be replaced though.
