Hey guys, having done some research on the Man of Steel/BvS suits, there is a sculpted muscle undersuit which has a chrome finish to create an interesting effect as the reflection shows through the dark blue 'chainmail'.

My understanding is that the sculpted muscle pieces are adhered to a fitted black stretch undersuit. What I really want to know is how they created a reliable chrome effect on flexible castings? If anybody with costume experience can chime in with information or an educated guess, that'd be awesome!
My second question is related but more pure curiosity. This image from one of the special features on Man of Steel shows part of the process.

It's a thin milky liquid being applied to -what appears to be - flexible urethane castings of the undersuit muscles. The lifecast dummy has been taped off and the castings are adhered. I'm just trying to figure out what part of the process this would be? I've done plenty of molding/casting and paint finishes, but keeping the final product in mind, I can hardly guess exactly what this step is. A pre-paint adhesion promoter? Anybody know?
