It isn't so cool, that it is constantly implied in the media that this company actually made everything they have for sale for the episode 7 production originally. I know it is their USP, but it leaves a bad taste - even if they are the originators of several of the real props.

Doesn't their own website lead you to believe they were more directly involved than they were on some of these props? The media most likely is just passing along what they are being told.

The website needs to be clarified so people know what they are ordering. It isn't even clear if the sabers are mostly metal with some 3d printed parts or if the majority is 3d printed as one piece. Some of this is better explained in the videos, but it should be on the info page about each replica.

Wow.... the paintjob on that looks like someone just sprayed it with flat gray primer and called it a day. What happened to all that layered paintjob they show them doing in the making-of video??

I believe that they are metal according to a video that I saw on here.

I reposted a pic from somebody a couple of pages back that shows what looks like a 3d printed kylo main body on the table being worked on. I'm pretty sure the Rey is a metal body though.

Honestly I think it's disgusting that a company asks such a high price but gives very sketchy details about materials used,processes and false claims that they made every prop from the film.

yeah it does seem a bit like that

haven't watched my TFA blu ray yet but I would imagine the paint job for the on screen prop should be a little more complicated just single tone gray.......

It is mentioned in the video a few pages back that the Kylo is mainly cast aluminum. It shows several pieces of the main body being sanded and polished to prepare for paint and it is quite clearly aluminum.
Perhaps what you're referring to was a prototype, or other 3D printed piece.. Not a production piece?

I absolutely agree. This is simple stuff.. They could write a unique description for each item.

In the walkthrough video they posted, they said rey's staff was an aluminum tube/pipe with 3d printed pieces inserted along it with real fabric hand wrapped in the middle.

Hard to tell if it's 3d print material, primed aluminium, or just a mold or something. I'll be sure to post here once mine arrives and let everyone know how it looks and feels. I know they say the weight of the hilt is just under 1lb at 424g. So really could be either, though I have a feeling it actually has both.

I'd say looking into it from that angle it's 3D printed. Looks translucent in places. If it was primed aluminum, the inner areas would look much darker because of the solid metal. The so called internal areas seem awfully light.

Doesn't mean THAT one is what goes to customers, but it seems printed to me.

I thought about this too, hah. Has the shipping/duties cost gone down though? Looks to me like it's all priced in USD to begin with.

Ah, perhaps it doesn't work out if they were priced USD to begin with - PropShop will just be making more money on the exchange. I guess I should have posted in the Anovos thread mentioning that those prices just went up for UK customers!

Got to see some of these in person, they look great but still think they're disgustingly overpriced. The only piece I'd consider is Poe's helmet but I wouldn't spend more than 1/3 of what Prop Shop's asking for. Some people started wearing the helmet, so it's definitely wearable despite what Prop Shop says, though I would probably not want to risk it considering some parts are 3D printed.
