props you will never sell?

Of all my props... I don't think I would ever want to sell the following:

My screen-used hero Reaper rifle from Doom.

My screen/production used Pinbacker costume from Sunshine (shirt and production made jacket pictured only - I also have the matching Icarus communicator, pants, sneakers and several script pages found in a pocket!)

My screen used uniform, battlemaps and sign from 28 Weeks Later

My B9 robot from Lost in Sace, it took over three years to build and a divorce to build it and it was all well worth it! :thumbsup

I'd never sell my Batman Beyond style Batarang, mainly because it was the first prop replica that I finished that looked like how it was supposed to look. It's still on my wall in Japan, followed me from Australia, luckily Japanese customs don't check your bags...
I'd also never sell my PJ, Computer Companion replica (from an obsure australian sci-fi tv series: The Girl From Tomorrow) as I made three from the same mold, the other two people who have them are a paralympian (who was inspired by the series and won 3 gold in 2000) and the writer of the series himself.

I would love to see more pics of that Batarang (I see it in your avatar.). I always wanted a Batarang like that. I like Batarangs anyway, but I'm a big fan of that show and would definitely want one of those. Though I know I won't get that one and I don't blame you.

My Doctor Who, McCoy Era TARDIS key is at the top of my list (the gold key in my avatar pic).

Mine would be my machete from 'The Book of Eli' that I made. I'll never make another one. everything else I have could be replaced with some work...

I think first and foremost for me would be my Steve Horsch TOS Tricorder.

Granted, it's a static piece, but it was the first true prop I ever owned. Got it on eBay for only $50.00 USD years ago, and had its authenticity verified by the man himself. He even sent me a free set of replacement knobs as mine was missing those when I first got it.

I've gotten some very generous offers in the past (someone once offered me $300.00 for it, and it's just a static piece), but being the first prop I've ever owned it has a certain sentimentality. Now that he's passed away, it holds even more meaning for me.

So, yeah... that one's definitely a keeper.

Also on the list of prop items I'd never sell:

+ First-gen TNG Hypospray casting
+ DS9 Dabo Chips (x 2)
(screen-accurate, made by the same prop house that did them for the show)
+ HMS Mk VI Tricorder casting
+ HMS/ILM Medical Mk VI Tricorder casting
+ HMS Latinum castings (x 2)
+ Rodd.com Cobrahead Phaser
(don't make them anymore, and it's only one of two pieces I have with the old PK7173 colour)
+ Dstines Mk X Tricorder kit
+ Deluxe ST:VI Assault Phaser with aluminum upgrade parts
+ Phase II Enterprise MSD
+ CaptJTK Crapazoid Phasers (x 2, one B&W and one grey/bronze)
+ eBay "Mystery" TOS mid-grade Phaser (recast of Phaserfetish's casting)
+ Rshanko fiberglass P2 kits (x 3)
+ Second-gen Firefly Mal's Pistol (series version) casting
+ TRON: Legacy Sam Flynn's Data Chip
+ TRON: Legacy "End of Line" Club Sector Map
+ TRON: Legacy "The Digital Frontier" book by Kevin Flynn

I think that's about it :lol

Never say never... :)

Sme things I never want to sell are gone now... And it doesn't touched me...

If I look at the stuff, there are two things I think:

Its so cool that I have it.

or

Nice piece. <-- this could be gone in bad times...

At the moment, I never would sell stuff from my BTTF collection or from Indiana Jones, maybe only if I change a prop with a better version...

I think my Proton Pack shell is another piece I never would sell. Its not finished, its just here and collect dust, but everytime I see it I think "One day I will fisnish it"...

Never say never... :)

i'm beginning to agree with you there, i have very little space left and need a bigger house. i may need to sell up to get a bigger place. no point having all the toys if you have nowhere to put them.

at the moment i'm pretty sure i would sell everything except my aluminium r2-d2, that has just taken too long and too much money to give up.

While I also agree with the idea of "never say never", I know for a fact that my Anakin Starkiller Obi TPM will be the the last thing to be sold from my collection if it ever comes down to that....

I

Whilst I love this hobby, I realised that owning replicas is fun but doesn't really bring you any closer to the movies you love. You can love a movie equally whether you own a prop / replica prop from it, or not.

.

from your mouth to GOD's ear.

Very true.

When the everyone realizes we are in an ECONOMIC DEPRESSION....
and its EAT or sell your collection for pennies of what you could have gotten for it a year prior,...you might reconsider a few things.

if that ain't the truth......

Interesting thread....

I've got things I never thought I would sell in my screen used Battlestar collection but now I'm waiting for my probation to end on here so I can put them up. It's funny how things change!
