props you will never sell?

I hadn't thought about this one until I was recently presented with the opportunity to rent or sell it... I realized I could never sell it and it was too precious to me to even risk renting it for a time. I didn't think I would handle it well if it got lost or broken so it remains safe at home with me.

Not only is it one of the first LOTR props I ever fell in love with, it's been blown by several people from around the globe that are very special to me... :lol Too many memories.

I'll never sell ANY props but that's because I'll never probably OWN any of worth. Except the one's I make and they are worth pennies, so it'd be pointles trying to sell them anyway!

Just picked up a recently from the Finale of Smallville a original screen used
wedding invitation.Iconic piece, very rare and prob the most important prop from the show. Also a few yrs back i managed to aquire a Dean Cane cape from Lois and Clark with papers from WB authenticating it. Both items NFS :love

I have a small group that I can't ever see myself selling-

-RS props full "un-restored" ANH Stormtrooper suit.
-Gino v2 background Stormtrooper helmet.
-High end rare ANH Vader helmet.
-Cinemaquette Terminator Endoskeleton.
-Giger Alien lifesize bust.

As for others I have I could prob have my arm twisted to sell but that small list is a big no no.

My complete set of MR Vader sabers (ROTS, ANH, ESB, ROTJ)... They were not particularly hard to get a hold of back then, but now it's a different story.
And having them displayed all together is something i've always wanted to achieve.
I'm also thinking about having a custom velvet padded case made to store/display them but I have yet to study something that would work.

Oh and 90% of my Begins/TDK props, but that goes without saying.

I couldn't possibly get rid of my Vader Kneeling, my R2 (when it's finished), my AP weathered Thermal Detonator, my ANH graflex Luke lightsaber with original exactra-19(or 20) bubbles (when it's finished), my "Last Tour to Endor" popcorn bucket, or my vintage tupperware set of cups (as seen in ANH at dinner table at Lukes house). Definitely not getting rid of these seen below (Luke's helmet #41 was ordered at Celebration V, I met Mark Hamill and he signed the plaque, I had never been to a convention before that, except Otacon. I am such a big fan of Ralph McQuarrie's art that I was awestruck to get one of these helmets #199):

The props and memorabilia I have were due to professionally working on a entertainment project. They were personal gifts. I would not part with them due to the memories and emotions involved. I seldom have duplicates of those special items.
I did make a Tom Baker TARDIS console and have pics of it on my profile here. It is a pain to store and makes a public appearance once in awile at the right event. I had too much fun making it myself and using it extensively in fan videos and in convention prop exhibit rooms. (Do sci-fi events have prop rooms now?!!?)

Some items are more likely to sell off just because their fun, usefulness, and importance has ended for me. Costumes, props, text materials, autographs and other stuff sometimes get the boot for sale. BWT: I have a Link in 'The Junkyard' section here for those things currently up for sale at the "Collector's Attic".

There are props I would never sell either because I had too much fun making them or someone close gave them to me.

I almost feel like I'll never part with ANY props from my collection!

But the ones that I definitely consider "keepers" are the following:
  • My Anodized Aluminum Green Lantern Power Ring Replicas made by the RPF's Megatron! Took me YEARS to see the dream of owning them realized, and they're far too rare for me to ever let them go now that I have them! :love
  • All of the various DC Direct Green Lantern Power Ring props that I own! While these are fairly easy to replace, the values go up steadily, and I like knowing that in almost all cases, I'm the original owner and got them at the ISSUE PRICE. :cool
  • My 14 K Gold Version 1 Sinestro Yellow Power Ring. Bought this on eBay about a decade ago from a seller that long ago stopped making any DC Comics rings, and I just might be BURIED with it on my finger! ;)
  • My DC Direct Green Lantern Power Battery Props. I have both the original Hal Jordan Power Battery Prop from at least a decade ago, and the Movie Power Battery Prop from this year! These are gonna stay in my collection until I draw my last breath! :p
  • My one-of-a-kind, custom-made Sinestro Corps Power Battery Prop that was based on one of Ethan Van Sciver's early, unused concepts for the yellow power battery! The design is so cool, Mattel ended up sculpting it to include with some of their action figures, and I bought, on the Bay of E, the only replica of it that I've ever seen offered for sale! And it's staying put where it is, in MY collection! :cool
  • My Star Trek: The Next Generation Phaser Laser Pointer. It's an officially licensed phaser prop replica that fires REAL LASER BEAMS! In other words, it's the coolest damn Star Trek collectible ever made! 'Nuff said! :cool
  • My rare, possibly one-of-a-kind PROTOTYPE for a Galoob Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers water pistol designed to look like the blasters in the show! There's precious little in the way of collectibles based on Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers, my favorite cartoon of the 1980s, and I'm still amazed that I managed to grab up such a rare piece on eBay a few years ago! Now if I could only find one of the promotional Galaxy Rangers BADGES that was sold at the New York Comic Con a few years ago to market the release of the Complete Series on DVD. :unsure
If I think of any others, I'll add them later.
Additions to the list... 1 I forgot, and 1 I just acquired...

  • My private commission piece I bought here on the RPF... the X10 Atomic-Ray Disintegrator... a one-of-a-kind, custom made, old school ray gun. :cool
  • And finally, at long last, I have my own personal Holy Grail... one of the Star Trek III Phaser Prop Replicas made by Richard A. Coyle... never letting this baby go now that I finally tracked one down! :love

Mine would be a Coast guard helmet like the ones used in the guardian given to me by a close friend when we were kids 13-16 years ago and my Assassin's Creed III Tyranny of King Washington Spirit of the eagle talisman.

my signed hoverboards, stormtrooper and biker scout armour, life size vader, altmanns biker scout life size bust, MR ROTS vader helmet, full size R2 (not started/finished it yet) unless i found one for a good price to buy, bttf the ride hoverboard and pepsi perfect, probably some others, but that's it off the top of my head
