Props you LOVE from movies you LIKE

So I have been thinking about this. There are some props that I think are SOOOO cool and would want in my collection BUT I don't really LOVE the movie(s).

For example. I love the Pulse Rifle from ALIENS but I am not infatuated with the movie, therefore I can't bring myself to buy one. The same goes for the PKD Blaster from Blade Runner, though it's a great prop I am just not in love with the movie.

Sometimes I think I should break down and get these props but I just can't.

I even have this problem with Temple of Doom, Crystal Skull and the Star Wars Prequals.

Anyone else with this quandry?

Well, nothing beats the Pule Rifle, that's for sure! :lol

I love my Logan's Run props but I don't love the movie. I do like it a lot... but I wouldn't say love.

I like the Universal Key from He-Man but I think the movie is downright horrible. That blade thing from Krull is pretty cool too.i'm not a big fan of the Flash Gordon movie but the soundtrack and props rule. I'd love to a few (very few) things from Watchmen - but again, didn't like the movie.

I have a general all-purpose loathing for Under Siege 2, but because of the train and the Newton MessagePad scenes, I watch it whenever it comes on cable (as long as nobody else is around...). That's more of a prop I LOVE (the Newton) from a movie I HATE.

I guess a good example for me regarding the title of the thread would be Count Duku's lightsaber.

I'll just say the PKD is overrated and rides the coattails of the film.

It's a bunch of stuff thrown together. People shouldn't love it, it's ugly.

Yeah, I agree. I love BLADE RUNNER; have got Deckard's Abbyshot, even. But I don't get the love for the gun.

Of course, I love ARMAGEDDON too so my taste is automatically suspect. :)

Those "gnome" helmets in that new Tower Prep show. I was flipping through the channels and I saw how the lights and such were mounted and the helmet shape and I just thought "Such beauty, such wasted potential."

I'll also throw in the Morita from Starship Troopers. I've always been meh on the movie but I loved the props.

I'm sort of the opposite. I can't love a prop if I don't like the movie or show in the first place.

I fall into that category as well. While I would not say that I love every single movie that I have a prop from, I do like one aspect or another about it or maybe it's just that I really like the prop so I find something to justify me spending money for something I really don't need from something I really didn't like:lol

I don't know that most purists would consider them props, but IMO the only good things about the Ghostbusters films were the Ecto 1 and 1A. Loved the rides, don't understand all the fuss about the films.

I'm another PKD guy. I love that gun, I love Deckard's coat even more, but struggle to sit through the movie.

Obi-Wan's lightsaber from Star Wars Episode II Attack of the Clones. I love the design. I think someone on the forum made the best version. I have the original Master Replicas version. I find the movie barely passable. However, it's probably the best of the prequels and the only one I own. I even have the one sheet poster which has the saber on it and is Drew Struzan's best Star Wars poster to me. The poster had the promise of a good movie...

ANY of the armor from Excalibur.

The movie has its flaws, but the costumes were amazing.

Don't get me wrong, I do think the LOTR triology was exceptionally well done...I just can't get myself to watch it more than once. Just not that into it.

Robocop armor.

Great movie for its time, but it's showing its age now.

Off-topic? Guys you´ve GOT to be kidding, this one´s more on-topic than a lot of other threads around here !!! :lol :lol :lol
I have the feeling that this thread will evolve into a collection of greatest prop collecting suggestions of all time ;)

I personally don´t care much for props from movies that are "meh" to me. Hm, wait, there are a few "Dune" props that I quite like... I think I have to rethink my previous statement, and wait what other suggestions are made in here...
