Hoping to be able to print some prop money on vellum. Can it be done on an Epson R220 inkjet printer?

Anyone had luck printing on vellum with an Epson inkjet?

Thanks :):thumbsup

I have one, and are you talking about drafting Vellum? The answer is nope :)

'The tech is incompatible with non-pourous surfaces. Those 'lil bubbles of ink will not dry, run together, and smear on the way out.

Thanks wise one ;)

I got a nice laser for the house too, because of the R220's particular weaknesses - the laser will print on vellum. I can even hand feed super-thin tracing vellums into that machine, if I feed it on a carrier paper... I'm doing some very cool stuff for Blade Runner people over the next few months!

I have some screen used Firefly money - it's on translucent paper... I think you need a laser printer to make that kind of stuff. But - if you use both, in a specific layered sequence with specific papers, you can get some super weird/cool effects. I have a neat process involving cotton rag and gelatin sizing :love

I'll share pics soon!

Which laser printer are you using?
I have been researching them and cannot decide.
I would like one with a legal size tray - for work.
Thank You

If its an option, it should be able to print on printable overhead transparancys. But of course the printable kind are kind of opaque (not to metnion thin)

Hmmm--I printed my Blade Runner snake scales on heavy vellum with no problems using an old HP inkjet. Of course, these are small so that might make a difference compared to larger images.

There was nothing on the packet of paper stating that it was/wasn't specifically for inkjets--the gal at the scrapbook place I bought it from asked me to let her know how it worked! :lol

I ordered some of the inkjet vellum with metallic specks from the link I posted above. I'll let you all know how it turns out!
