My friend Tim finished this up last week as part of an ongoing barter system we have in place. lol He also made the Chestburster from A L I E N for me earlier this year...I know there are other a few other Engineer helmet projects in the works, so maybe these pics can provide some extra reference...

    And the first finished casting...

But wait, there's more! It also comes with "severed head" action!

I have no idea where I'm going to display mine, but I don't really care!

Wow, this is really well done and unique.

Is it 1:1...? What is it made out of?

Personally, I was not a huge fan of the film, but this prop is so cool Id consider owning one!

    Thanks for sharing!

It's 1:1 scale and slush cast out of both hard and soft Polyurethane Foams (Smooth-On I think).

Definitely a cool looking piece. The bone structure and detailing is superb, as well as the aging and weathering.

Yeah, that's a "clear space on the mantle or in your favorite display case" kind of item. Or even a "buy a new display case for my first of many Prometheus replicas, but this is the centerpiece" kind of item.

    :)

Is your friend Tim perhaps just a guy with enormous piles of money? He just bought the real thing and then gave it a better paint job? Cause this is scary good...

Anybody doing a cast of the helmet and the suit (or armor parts) to go with it by any chance, i'd love to see how that works out.

I like how the helmet opens up in the movie, very organic yet still mechanical.
