Project: Steampunk Vampire Hunter

I'd like to see some steampunk "nightvision" goggles for this. So many steampunk cosplayers wear goggles that don't fit their character. This would be a good place for them in my opinion.

Tandy leather has some good rawhide mallets that might look good with the brass accents. Good work by the way. I can't wait to see more.

I love the latches. Where did you find them?

EDIT: Also, as a professional jeweler, it's nice to see some metalwork. Keep it coming.

A small update on the Mallet and Stakes!

ALMOST finished!

It's ONLY 3am and I gotta get up for work in 5 hours.... it MUST be Comic-Con Season :lol

I really like what you've done with the stake and mallet there. The light metal on the dark stained wood are an excellent contrast. Keep it up, and I wanna see pics of this whole costume when your done :cool

Thanks guys, I think I'll only have the basics for Comic-Con. I had a TON planned for the costume but I'm not gonna have everything ready for it, these detailed pieces are taking a bit more time than I thought, and I've been staying up till 3am working on it... but again it wouldn't be Comic-Con if I wasn't a walking zombie the week before :cool

If the paint/glue on something isn't drying in the back of the car on the WAY to the Con, then you're not doing it right :p

I've been working on a Vampire Hunter kit, this is my first one, and more of a "travel kit" than a big scale tool kit.

My progress on the lid so far:

I'm going to remove the flimsy clasp and add leather straps to the face of the lid that wraps over to brass toggle clasps. Stain it a cherry brown and weather it.

The inside was plain and empty, I hand cut and made sections for the supplies. The bottom of the box will be leather lined.

Test fitting the bottles and stakes (which will be shorter).

I love the clasps on the spats, the hand made brass and the woodwork. This is an awesome build going on! Excellent work!

Thanks guys! Yeah I totally need to update this project, I got side-lined for a bit with trying to build my shop inventory and find the neatest and unusual supplies for my Hunter Kits. Soon... very soon!

:)
