Profiles in history... Not impressed

I have tried to contact PIH twice now about consigning a couple of items in their auction and I have NEVER heard back from anyone.
I understand my items aren't $30,000 items but I also know they have value based upon current markets I have seen.
Anyone else had issues like this with auction houses?

Yep, exactly the same here. You'd think they would respond to a loyal customer.

I have a weird feeling that they're not a direct auction business. some of the props sold have extremely questionable authenticity, and are form specific collections. I don't know much about them, but they seem set far back from the direct public..

I have sold stuff there in the past, but they have become increasingly difficult to get responses from since they have gotten there own tv show. Try Screenused.com and Desi. They have started having auctions for highend props as well with much success and the next one being in March. Tell him that Chris Hanlin said to call lol

I have one of George Clooneys fins from his batman gloves and I have a production made and mounted robin torso in very very good condition.

Agreed, propstore.com and screenused.com. One, they will ALWAYS get back to you promptly. Two, pretty much everyone on the RPF has had great experiences with both screenused and propstore. I have dealt with both and I can say that Steven and Desi are both amazing.

I think 98 percent of everyone will agree. Their customer service is outstanding.

:thumbsup

desi is awesome....great guy

and bryan from propstore is great as well..

both are fast with responses and very informative....seriously can say enough great things about them

PIH wont try to sell things that wont get them a medium to high commission.......batman fin from a glove is a few bucks to a hundred....robin torso depending on screenused or not will be worth a lot more....

Lmao nice one newworld. Yeah I never buy anything off them. Too high on mark up from commissions. Plus I know that the propstore and Screenused will take care of me if any issues need to be addressed.

With the TV Show, they probably get lots of noise coming at them.

Doubt a broken fin from a a Bateman glove is worth their time. :(

Try emailing DeeDee Kuna. She has always gotten back to me.

I just got off the phone with Brian Chanes (Acquisitions Manager) and learned that DeeDee left Profiles at the end of 2012. Sorry for the bad email address.

They are SUPER slammed at the moment because they're getting ready for their next Hollywood auction, which will be this July. Brian gets hundreds of emails each day and unfortunately, many simply get lost in the shuffle. It could be hard to get a hold of them for the next few months.

However, if you have something you want to consign, use the consignment form here:

It could take awhile to get back to you (even they say it could be several days), but they do review every entry.

I contacted them a year ago (using their form) about some items worth several thousand dollars. Never heard a peep. IMO it's not about someone leaving, it's about lousy business practices.
